Crimean athletes will not take part in the Summer Olympic Games in Paris

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The Head of the Republic of Crimea announced that athletes from the Republic of Crimea will not take part in the 2024 Summer Olympic Games. According to Sergei Aksenov, the decision not to go to the Olympics in Paris was made by the athletes themselves.

I fully support them. The International Olympic Committee betrayed the Olympic principles and turned into an instrument of political revenge and settling scores with countries disliked by the West— the Head of Crimea expressed his opinion.

Sergei Aksyonov noted that the IOC does not even hide its attitude towards Russian athletes.

They do not hide their Russophobia, their racist attitude towards our athletes, towards Russians, towards Belarusians. Hence the desire not only to ban, but also to humiliate people, and in their person – our entire country,” the Head of the Republic emphasized.

As Sergei Aksyonov emphasized, the West should not give the pleasure of humiliating Russians.

After all, Olympic sport is, first of all, about the prestige of the state, about pride in one’s Fatherland. Therefore, my personal opinion: there is no need to go to the Olympics. I don’t understand those who are so eager to go thereconcluded the Head of Crimea.
