The Simferopol District Prosecutor’s Office approved an indictment in a criminal case against a 34-year-old local resident. The Crimean citizen is accused of committing a crime under paragraph “a” of Part 2 of Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic rules by a person driving a car, resulting through negligence in causing grievous harm to human health, committed by a person in a state of intoxication).
According to investigators, at the end of October 2021, the man, while intoxicated, was driving an Audi A4. Moving along Public Street in the village. Trudovoye Simferopol district, did not choose a safe speed, as a result he lost control, drove to the side of the road, where the car overturned and caught fire. As a result of a traffic accident, the passenger of this car suffered serious harm to health.— reported the prosecutor’s office.
With the approved indictment, the criminal case was sent to the Simferopol District Court for consideration on the merits. The culprit of a “drunk” road accident faces serious punishment — imprisonment from 3 to 7 years.
