Crimean citizen will be held accountable for illegal tree felling

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The Kirovsky District Prosecutor’s Office approved an indictment in a criminal case against a 59-year-old local resident. The Crimean citizen is accused of committing a crime under paragraph “c” of Part 2 of Art. 260 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal cutting of trees).

According to investigators, in February of this year, the attacker, holding a leadership position in one of the institutions, instructed subordinate employees to cut down 8 trees of the Sophora genus that grew near the enterprise. The accused’s subordinates, not suspecting that his actions were criminal in nature, used a chainsaw to cut down the trees in question. As a result of criminal actions, the municipality suffered damage in the amount of more than 30 thousand rubles. The accused admitted guilt and compensated for the damage caused by the crime— reported the prosecutor’s office.

The criminal case with the approved indictment was sent to the Kirovsky District Court for consideration on the merits.
