Crimean classic wrestlers won three medals at the All-Russian tournament in Rostov-on-Don

CrimeaPRESS reports:

These competitions, which are annual, this time brought together almost 200 athletes from more than 30 regions of the country. Almost the entire Russian national team of this age took part in them, having just completed its training camp in Alushta.

Crimea was represented at the tournament by five wrestlers, four of whom are students of the KSP UOR (Krasnolesye, Simferopol district).

Master of Sports of Russia Eldar Emirov from Kuibyshevo, Bakhchisarai district (coaches Lenur Mamedov and Bolat Abdulaev) repeated his last year’s success at these competitions, becoming the winner in the weight category up to 130 kg. Our fellow countryman finished the final with a brilliant throw and touch.

In the weight up to 87 kg, unexpectedly for many (including the coaches of the Crimean and Russian national teams), candidate for master of sports of Russia Roman Tokarev from Alushta won (coaches Konstantin Mokridi and Bolat Abdulaev). Despite the fact that Roman will only turn 17 on November 16, he pleasantly surprised with his competent, mature wrestling beyond his years. On the way to the final, Tokarev defeated a number of experienced opponents, including the recent winner of the Russian Junior Cup in Kazan, Beslan Kunizhev from Adygea, and participant in the World Championship among youth under 18 Ramzan Sadulayev from the Krasnodar Territory. In the decisive battle in a bitter struggle, the Crimean, to the disappointment of local fans, prevailed over the repeated winner of the championships of the Southern Federal District and Russia, Ivan Obukhovsky from Rostov-on-Don. Let us note that thanks to his victory at this tournament, Roman Tokarev fulfilled the standard for Master of Sports of Russia.

In the category up to 72 kg, Imran Settarov from Kuibyshevo, Bakhchisarai district (coach Lenur Mamedov) took silver. Imran showed the will to win, winning three bouts and reaching the final, in which, unfortunately, he lost to the winner of the recent youth world championship, Vladislav Byrle from Moscow.

Selim Sufyan (also from Kuibyshevo, coach Lenur Mamedov) stopped one step away from the podium in the same weight (up to 72 kg) — he took fifth place. At the same time, Selim fulfilled the standard for a candidate for master of sports of Russia.

All the athletes mentioned are students of the UOR KSP.

Kamil Ferzulaev from Bakhchisarai (up to 97 kg), a student of the State Budgetary Educational Institution of the Republic of Crimea “Secondary School No. 7” (up to 97 kg), dropped out of the fight for medals at the early stage of the competition.

Taking this opportunity, I would like to thank the President of the Wrestling Federation of the Republic of Crimea Dzhemal Vladimirovich Dzhangobegov, who, despite the difficult times, provides comprehensive, including financial assistance, not only to Crimean athletes, but also to coaches,” noted the head coach of the Crimean Greco-Roman wrestling team, Bolat Abdulaev. – This year, in particular, he seriously increased the bonus fund, and based on the results of his work, leading wrestlers and specialists have already felt this for themselves. I would like to hope that the heads of various sports departments of the republic will also not forget about the coaches who prepare high-level athletes for our region.
