Ivan Semenovich was born in 1925. His childhood and youthful years passed in Simferopol. Here he survived the difficult period of the Nazi occupation.
Immediately after the liberation of the city, in April 1944, the young man was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army. And already in May, he, as part of 561 rifle regiment, 91 rifle Melitopol Red Banner Division took part in the liberation of Sevastopol. His military path continued in the Baltic states, where he was seriously wounded in his leg.
After recovery, Ivan Semenovich was demobilized and returned to the Crimea.
For courage and heroism manifested during the fighting, Ivan Semenovich was also awarded the medal “For Courage”, and for conscientious work in the post -war years — the medal “For Labor Valor”.
Sergei Aksyonov added that in 2022 the veteran was awarded the medal «For Protection of the Republic of Crimea.»
The life of Ivan Semenovich is a worthy example of selfless service to the Motherland both in the war years and in peacetime— emphasized the head of Crimea.
