Crimean defense participants can get a veteran status

The Russian government approved a list of territories whose defense participants may claim to receive the status of a war veteran. This was reported by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation. The list includes territories adjacent to the areas of a special military operation and have been attacked by the armed groups of Ukraine. It included 11 administrative-territorial entities.
Among these territories are the Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol, Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk regions, Temryuk district of the Krasnodar Territory, Kantemirovsky and Rossoshansky municipal regions of the Voronezh region, as well as the city of Anapa, Novorossiysk and Gelendzhik-listed in the press service.
According to the new edition of the Federal Law “On Veterans”, military personnel, security officials and participants in volunteer units reflecting the invasion of the Kursk region and armed provocations in the territories indicated in the list, received the right to assign the status of a war veteran.
In addition, military personnel and participants in volunteer units, who became disabled as a result of a special operation, will be able to obtain the status of a disabled person of military operations.
