Crimean drivers are like that… — Why didn’t you pay the fine? — Forgot. — But there will be a new fine! — And I’ll forget him
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The State Traffic Inspectorate of Crimea sums up the results of the preventive measure “Debtor” (checking unpaid fines). The results are discouraging! In just a few days, over a thousand (!) drivers “forgot” to pay a fine for their traffic violation.
In the period from September 16 to 20 and from September 23 to 27 of this year, on the territory of the Republic of Crimea, employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate conducted a preventive event “Debtor”, within the framework of which, while on duty, they checked road users, both drivers and pedestrians, for the presence of unpaid fines for violation of traffic rules of the Russian Federation within the period established by law. In relation to persons evading the execution of administrative punishment, 1097 protocols were drawn up for failure to pay an administrative fine on time— reported the traffic police.
During this period, together with employees of the Federal Bailiff Service, more than 20 raids were carried out.
The State Traffic Inspectorate recommends that road users pay fines in a timely manner. Failure to pay a fine within the period prescribed by law is subject to administrative liability in the form of a fine of double the amount, but not less than one thousand rubles, or administrative arrest for up to 15 days or compulsory labor for up to fifty hours.
