Crimean enterprises export wine, chemical and agricultural products

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Crimean enterprises export chemical, agricultural and wine products, reported TASS Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers — Permanent Representative of the Republic of Crimea to the President of Russia Georgy Muradov on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

If we talk about general categories, then [на экспорт идет] agricultural products: large volumes of grain and flour, as well as poultry meat and offal, soft drinks. These are, of course, Crimean wines that have perfectly demonstrated their growing quality — and here we must pay tribute not only to our large enterprises with a long history. Small private signature wineries create unique, including autochthonous, wines, which are now of high quality and unique taste characteristics, due to which they are in great demandsays the agency’s interlocutor.

He noted that large volumes of chemical products are also exported. Among them, iodine-bromine materials are of interest; they are produced by only a few enterprises in the world, which means that the products are in demand.

According to him, foreign countries are also showing interest in equipment produced in the region (welding devices, optical instruments), as well as in metallurgical industry products: for example, turnouts and other elements for railways. In addition, potential partners are interested in such unusual products as parachutes. The interlocutor added that there is also interest in high-quality essential oils, which are produced in Crimea from natural ingredients.

Muradov clarified that Crimea actively interacts with partners in near and far abroad countries; most of all connections have been established with enterprises from Belarus, China and Armenia. “In addition to Belarus, traditional ties are maintained with other countries that were part of the USSR. Among the most important partners are also Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, but trade with them most often occurs through intermediaries. “In previous years, business in Armenia demonstrated openness, trade turnover gradually increased, but now it is declining again due to political processes in this country,” he added.

After the 2014 referendum and the reunification of Crimea with Russia, Ukraine and Western states introduced a number of sanctions against the Russian Federation, Russian businessmen and politicians, as well as foreign guests and company representatives who visited Crimea. These countries have imposed a blockade on any positive information about the situation on the peninsula and are preventing the region from participating in international events abroad. However, numerous foreign delegations come to the peninsula, participate in forums, congresses, scientific conferences, sports competitions, conduct scientific work with scientists from Crimea and Sevastopol, create and develop businesses, and maintain public relations.
