Crimean farmers harvested almost 6,000 tons of rice
KrymPRESS reports:
Crimean farmers have harvested about 6 thousand tons of rice, with an average yield in the republic 82 centner per hectare. Today, two enterprises in the Razdolnensky district are finishing harvesting the last 13 hectares.
Let me remind you that this year rice was sown for the first time in 8 years, after the restoration of water supply to the North Crimean Canal. The harvesting campaign of this crop started September and now it has come to an end. Two enterprises in the Razdolnensky district have to harvest from 13 hectares. Now cleaning is taking place at one of them — TPK Infocar LLC. Here on the fields grow varieties «Apollo» and «Patriot». This year, the enterprise sowed rice on an area of more than 60 hectares. 60 hectares of the first threshing have already been harvested, more 100 tons have been threshed. The plans of the agricultural enterprise next year are to sow about 500 hectares of land with rice, — the press service of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea Andriy Savchuk quotes.
TPK Infocar LLC is one of the largest agricultural enterprises in the region, which specializes in the cultivation of grain crops and the production of industrial crops. The harvesting campaign of early grain and leguminous crops on the fields of the agricultural company was successful, 100% of the area was harvested: more than 4 thousand tons of grain were harvested, 13 tons of millet, 370 tons of sunflower, more than 300 tons of flax.
Eight years ago, agricultural producers in the republic grew rice on 13, 5 thousand hectares. The cultivation of culture was carried out by households. The yield of «white gold» in most enterprises was from 13 centners per hectare and above, and only in nine — below 60 centners per hectare. The largest areas of rice were in the Krasnoperekopsky district , — notes the head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Crimea.
Andrey Savchuk also clarified that the main varieties of rice grown by Crimean farmers this year are Patriot, Favorit, Istok, and Veles. Next year, part of the seed material is planned to be sown again for a new crop, which will increase the sown area to 4.5 thousand hectares
