Crimean information systems protect against hacker attacks, the number of which has increased

The Government of the Republic of Crimea has moved all of its government information systems and equipment to the region’s Data Processing Center located on the peninsula to protect against hacker attacks. This was reported TASS at the Ministry of Internal Policy, Information and Communications of the republic. Authorities note that since 2022, the number and scale of attacks have “increased significantly,” with two large-scale hacker attacks on government resources last year alone.

The Ministry transferred and placed all state, departmental and other information systems into the state information system “Data Processing Center of the Republic of Crimea”, including existing equipment to ensure the functioning of the information infrastructure“,” the department said, adding that the portal of the government of the Republic of Crimea and its sub-resources are most often attacked.

In addition, the ministry noted, in the Data Processing Center of the Republic of Crimea, the hardware and software system for protecting against DDOS attacks was modernized, and a web application protection system was developed and put into operation — a firewall for web applications (Web application firewall).
