The Kirov Interdistrict Investigation Department of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol opened a criminal case against a 61-year-old resident of the Kirov District for the attempted murder of his wife (Part 3, Article 30, Part 1, Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
It was established that the man, who continued to live together in a private house with. Zhuravki and his 45-year-old wife, after a formal divorce, out of jealousy towards another man, decided to commit her murder. After waiting for the woman to fall asleep, he shot her in the back from a firearm he had previously made using small-caliber cartridges.
The man was unable to continue his criminal actions because the victim locked herself in her daughter’s room, where she waited for law enforcement officers and medical workers to arrive— reported in Sledkom.
The man was charged with committing a particularly serious crime and a preventive measure was chosen in the form of detention.
Currently, forensic examinations are being carried out and other investigative actions are being carried out to establish the circumstances of the crime. The criminal investigation continues.
