Crimean mobile operator negotiates possibility of number portability
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Earlier, the media reported that in Crimea, the Miranda operator had problems with transferring numbers to local operators from the largest federal mobile operators that are not present in the region.
Now Miranda is actively negotiating with industry partners, wanting to establish the process of porting numbers from one operator to another. Of course, none of the market participants wants to lose customers, but we are sure that healthy competition is, first of all, beneficial for people. Thanks to the choice that residents of the peninsula have, customers will be able to find their telecom operator that suits them in terms of conditions, tariffs and, most importantly, in terms of values, — the message quotes the words of the director of B2C Miranda, Irina Kuzmina.
It is noted that the request for number portability from other operators (MNP) has increased for this mobile operator. A third of all Miranda sales today are MNP portability. There are good reasons for this. Firstly, it is important for people to keep contacts. Secondly, numbers are often linked to banking services and government services.
Earlier it was reported that major Russian mobile operators do not work in Crimea, fearing to fall under Western sanctions. On the peninsula, communication services are provided by the companies K-Telecom (Win-mobile brand), KTK-Telecom (Volna Mobile), Krymtelecom and Sevtelecom. At the same time, residents of Crimea themselves often use MTS SIM cards attached to the Krasnodar Territory.
