Crimean mud is supplied to hundreds of sanatoriums of Russia and the CIS
Krympress reports:
In the Crimea of therapeutic mud in Lake Saki, there will be enough for at least 500 years. About this RIA Novosti Crimea told the chief technologist of the Crimean hydrogeological regime-operating station (GGRES) Valentin Ivaninsky.
The reserves of only the eastern operated pool are enough for 100 years. And the western pool, we have it in reserve, is enough for 400-500 years there. Therefore, our task is the main thing — this is the preservation of this therapeutic resource, both dirt and rauses— he added.
Ivanin noted that Saki mud is not just a natural heritage, but a support of the Russian spa industry, a powerful alternative to imported balne industry products and an object of close scientific and environmental control. Today, mud production from Lake Saki not only does not decrease, but also grows stably.
In 2024, volumes increased by 10% compared to the previous year and amounted to 2713 tons. In parallel, 12.28 thousand m3 of the therapeutic rapier were produced. The dynamics of 2025 promises to bring the indicators into an even greater plus.
The GGRES station, founded back in 1926, is conducting systemic work on the study, extraction and preservation of the medical resources of Crimea. The technologist claims that the unique engineering system for regulating water-salt balance and strict monitoring of the condition of the lake allow you to maintain the properties of therapeutic dirt at a high level.
To stabilize physico-chemical and sanitary-microbiological parameters, a system of engineering protection structures was developed and built on the shores of the lake, which allows the lake to be artificially filled with sea water in the hot season. The formation of the environment around therapeutic reservoirs also continues. And these processes can have primarily have a negative effect on water. To prevent or reduce them, we conduct observations and control over these parameters— explained the head of the department of natural and medical resources of the GGRES Viktor Chaban.
Today, the products of the Crimean GGRES include more than 50 items — from traditional mud applications to modern gel compositions, cosmetic masks and rape products. In 2024, 180 thousand units of packaged and balneocomatic products were produced, which is supplied not only to Crimean and Russian sanatoriums (more than 200 institutions), but also to the CIS countries: Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
We are constantly developing and introducing new rulers, expanding the assortment. This enables consumers to use a mud in home. The scope, treatment with Sakh mud is very high. More than 100 diseases are treated— added Ivaninsky.
As noted in the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of Crimea, domestic manufacturers have successfully overcame the stereotype that only imported cosmetics can be of high -quality. Crimean products are already actively represented in retail chains, salons and marketplaces.
The benefits and healing properties of the Saki mud are much exceed the same properties of the mud of the Dead Sea. More and more of our guests choose Crimean cosmetics as the best souvenir from Crimea— notes the Minister of Resorts and Tourism of Crimea Sergey Gansiy.
He also added that more than a third of Crimean tourists choose a vacation in sanatoriums, but the region itself is a large health resort. According to him, nature, climate and landscapes are a powerful therapeutic factor.
Resort washing was born in Crimea, precisely thanks to scientific developments, unique medical programs, healing resources, Crimea is in demand and competitive— emphasized Gansiy.
Earlier, the head of the Southern Regional Center for Export Support Ksenia Slutskaya said that Crimean manufacturers are actively entering new foreign markets. According to her, the region is aimed at promoting Crimean food products, natural cosmetics and services to the countries of Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.
