Crimean police in Moscow and the Moscow region detained suspects in theft from a house in Alushta

Employees of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea in cooperation with the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Alushta, the Main Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and the Criminal Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Moscow Region with the force support of special forces of the capital’s National Guard as a result of the implementation of a complex of operational investigative measures in the territory of Moscow and the Moscow region detained 4 previously convicted men aged from 32 to 51 years, suspected of theft from a private household located in the city of Alushta.

It has been previously established that the attackers carefully prepared to commit the crime. They chose the house of an individual entrepreneur who owns hotel complexes. Then we watched him for some time, studying the routes of approach and departure. On the night of August 26-27, 2023, accomplices entered the building through a window and stole 1.3 million rubles, 1.7 thousand US dollars, 400 euros, two gold watches, jewelry, branded clothing from a closet and bedside table, after why they left the Republic of Crimea, hoping to avoid criminal liability. The total amount of damage amounted to more than 7 million rubles— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.

During searches in the homes of the suspects, as well as in places where stolen goods were sold, part of the stolen money in the amount of 629 thousand rubles and 300 US dollars, jewelry, SIM cards, phones, as well as a foreign car that was used in the theft were seized.

The men were taken to the Russian Department of Internal Affairs in Alushta. A criminal case was initiated on the grounds of a crime under Part 4 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The defendants were chosen as a preventive measure in the form of detention. The investigation is ongoing.
