Crimean police report a new type of fraud and at the same time introduce… a new digital assistant
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Crimean police presents a new digital project: N.ATI is a digital assistant created using artificial intelligence.
A female image was used in the development of the bot prototype, as it creates a more trusting relationship with the audience. Any resemblance to a real person is purely coincidental.noted the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
It is clarified that the main mission of the digital assistant is to maintain a news block about remote fraud and more.
Here is another entry about a new type of fraud.
The new deception scheme involves calls from unknown people on your mobile phone, posing as mobile phone employees. They inform the potential victim that his phone number is about to expire, after which it will be impossible to use the number. Afterwards, the attackers offer to extend the validity period without asking the victim to transfer any personal data. When the victim agrees, an SMS with a code from State Services is sent to her phone. It is this code that unknown people are asking citizens to dictate. In fact, the code that comes is a password change code for accessing State Services, after transmitting which the attackers hack into your personal account— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
Thus, over the past 24 hours, scammers have defrauded a gullible resident of Simferopol of 570 thousand rubles.
