CrimeaPRESS reports:
The Crimean police emphasize: “reserve” or so-called “safe” accounts by scammers DOES NOT EXIST! This is just one of the tricks of telephone scammers.
Such frauds usually occur according to the following scheme: a stranger calls the victim, introduces himself as a bank employee and reports that there are technical problems in the bank’s system and for this reason convinces the potential victim of the need to independently transfer money to the so-called “safe/reserve” account.
To ensure that a person has no doubts, other participants in the criminal scheme may call him back and introduce himself as bank security officers and strongly recommend that he follow the instructions of the bank representatives who called earlier.
Currently, the attackers have already managed to mislead several residents of the area using a similar scheme.
Employees of the Department of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Krasnogvardeisky district once again appeal to citizens and urge them not to trust calls from strangers, and under no circumstances make transfers to unknown accounts!
If they call you and introduce themselves as employees of a bank or any law enforcement agencies, call them back yourself using the official numbers of financial organizations and law enforcement agencies. Never call back a phone number from which unknown people are calling you!
Do not share your full bank card details, PIN code, CVC/CVV codes or one-time passwords with anyone to confirm transactions.
