Crimean rescuers are preparing for worsening weather conditions

Crimean rescuers remind that according to the information of the Crimean Department for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, due to the passage of a cold frontal section, snow is expected in Crimea on February 9, in the southern, central, eastern regions and in the mountains very heavy precipitation. Strengthening of the southwest wind with the transition to the northwest wind 15- m/s, gusts up to m/s.

All forces and means of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea and the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea are in readiness for prompt response. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Crimea has developed plans for the use of forces and means in case of emergencies caused by bad weather. The issues of interaction with the authorities of the Republic and other services and departments that are part of the Unified State System for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergencies (RSChS) have also been clarified. Information about the deterioration of weather conditions was promptly communicated to all governments and interested services through the regional automated central warning system (RASCSO) , the press service of the emergency department reported.

All rescue equipment of the GKU RK «KRYM-SPAS» and the GKU RK «Fire Guard of the Republic of Crimea» is ready to respond to possible emergencies and actions as intended. Fire safety issues are also taken under special control. The situation is being monitored.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations draws attention to the fact that due to the worsening weather conditions, there is a high probability of emergencies associated with accidents at energy facilities, housing and communal services, an increase in the number of traffic accidents, violations of transport links, difficulties in the movement of vehicles on roads, long descents and ascents, dangerous turns and mountain passes. There is a threat to the life and health of the population due to the possible fall of billboards, trees, weakly reinforced structures and possible breaks in power lines. The presence of people in the coastal zone, on piers and shore protection structures is life threatening.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea reminds that the heads of motor transport enterprises need to monitor changes in weather conditions, conduct additional briefings for drivers of intercity public transport flights on compliance with the speed limit and traffic rules. Shipowners are also advised to carefully monitor weather changes and postpone sailing if possible.

Rescuers urge tourists and climbers during the period of worsening weather conditions, if possible, not to advance into the mountainous forest area, completely exclude being in remote, hard-to-reach areas of the Crimean mountains, adequately calculate the return time, carry warm clothes with you and inform relatives and friends about your movement.

Due to adverse weather conditions, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea recommends observing security measures:

  • forest area;
  • 112 refrain from going to the sea and inland waters; 112

  • while on the street, pay attention to the integrity of overhead power lines, contact networks of electric transport and tree branches;
  • not to be and not to park vehicles near billboards, weakly reinforced structures, power lines and trees;
  • for drivers of vehicles, if it is impossible to restrict exit, to be extremely careful on the road, not to exceed the speed limit and strictly observe the rules of the road;
  • 112 Pedestrians must be especially careful when crossing the road;

Go outside in shoes with non-slip soles, move be careful, take your time, taking into account the unevenness of the surface.

Pay special attention in case of bad weather to the safety of children and the elderly, be attentive to others.
