On August 24, at 15:05, the control panel of the emergency department on duty received a message that two girls, while climbing the mountain range of Cape Meganom (near Sudak), lost their way and entered a difficult terrain. They cannot continue on their own.
Employees of the Sudak emergency rescue team of the GKU RK «KRYM-SPAS» and the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea left for the scene. Upon arrival at the proposed search and rescue area, emergency department employees contacted the tourists by mobile phone, clarified their approximate location and gave recommendations on precautionary measures.— said the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea.
During the search activities, the girls were found on a steep, impassable section of the southwestern mountain range of Cape Meganom. Rescuers with the help of climbing equipment laid safety railings and evacuated tourists to a safe place. They did not need medical attention. Finally, the rescuers had a preventive conversation with them on the rules of behavior in the mountains.
