Crimean rescuers warn mushroom pickers
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The statistics only confirm the dangerous trend.
Since the beginning of the year, the Crimean rescuers went out 51 times to carry out search and rescue operations, as a result, 62 people were rescued. In May-June, most of the rescued were … lost mushroom pickers.
After a week of rains, lovers of quiet hunting actively went to the mountain-forest area. Such a hobby was not without incident. Last week alone, employees of the mountain search and rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Republic of Crimea went to the aid of lost mushroom pickers three times— said in the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea.

12 June. Despite the storm warning, two residents of the Crimean capital decided to go for mushrooms in the area of the Angarsk Pass. On the way up the mountain, the women were caught in a thick fog. Due to poor visibility, the lovers of quiet hunting thought that they had turned onto the path, where they left the car, and as a result, they got lost. After wandering through the forest for about an hour, the women found a place where they caught a connection and called rescuers. The complexity of the search was due to weather conditions and incorrect coordinates that were sent by tourists to employees of the Russian Emergencies Ministry. Thanks to uninterrupted communication with the victims, the rescuers found out where the women might be, and the rescue operation was a success.
June 13th. At 17:20, the Crisis Management Center received a message that a man got lost near the village of Kizilovoe, Simferopol region. The message came from the missing brother. Both men went for mushrooms and agreed to meet at a designated place. The relative did not get in touch and was absent for more than 5 hours. The man turned to the rescuers for help. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia immediately began searching and found the lost car at the entrance to the forest. Rescuers turned on the signal on the special transport to attract the attention of the lost person with a sound and began to carry out “response work”. The lost man heard the sounds and made his way out of the forest safely. A relative reported missing brother in time, so the search and rescue operation was easier to carry out during the daytime. That is why it is extremely important to tell relatives where you intend to go and when you plan to return.
June 14th. An elderly couple, also ignoring the storm warning, went to Dolgorukovskaya Yayla for mushrooms in a private car. Due to heavy rains, the road was washed out and huge puddles formed. The car now and then got bogged down in clay, and then a thick fog fell at all. The couple did not know how to use the navigator, so they lost their bearings on the monotonous landscape. Desperate to get out on her own, the woman called 112 and asked for help. Employees of a specialized detachment found the “lost ones” and escorted their transport to the nearest settlement. They did not need medical attention.
Crimean rescuers hope that these stories will be read by mushroom pickers, lovers of walks in mountainous forest areas, and tourists. Read and draw the right conclusions. Well, in the event of an emergency, call 101 and 112 — these are single numbers for calling emergency operational services.
