Scientific tourist routes are created in order to attract talented young people to the field of research and development, as well as to increase the availability of information about the achievements and prospects of Russian science.

The initiative aims to create unique and exciting comprehensive tours of Russia for an audience of all ages.

Tourism is one of the most favorite activities of Russians of all ages. So, despite the pandemic and restrictions in the 2021 year, more than 56 million people traveled with at least one overnight stay. Moreover, the demand for domestic tours continues to grow.

That is why each route of the Initiative is thought out to the smallest detail and is designed to be a real adventure: tourists will visit unique scientific sites, many of which have so far been closed to the general public. Original programs will allow not only to touch science, but to feel like full-fledged participants in it, to look at science from an unexpected angle and plunge into the fascinating world of discoveries and prospects for the future. This will create new points of attraction in domestic tourism, increase the tourism potential of the regions where key scientific facilities are located, popularize science and involve a wide audience in the scientific field.

The routes of the Initiative will also complement the tours of the More than a Journey project. Any participant of the competitions of the platform «Russia — the Land of Opportunities» and the Russian Society «Knowledge» can win a trip along the popular science route within the framework of the program.
