Crimean student brigades cleaned up the territory of the monument to the partisans of the Starokarantinny quarry in Kerch
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Through the efforts of student groups of the Republic of Crimea, from February 18 to February 26, a student landing of the North Ossetia is being implemented as part of the All-Russian patriotic action “Snow landing of the North Ossetia”. On Defender of the Fatherland Day, the student team continued to work hard and carried out work on the improvement of the territory of the monument to partisans in the area of Starokarantinnye quarries in Kerch.
Everyone knows the heroic Adzhimushkay quarries. But in fact, there were several quarries in the Kerch region, which were used by the partisans to fight the invaders and invaders. So in Starokarantinnye quarries in 1919-1920. the partisans fought against the interventionists and the White Guards for the establishment of Soviet power, and already in 1941-1944 partisan detachments fought against the German invaders. Here in 1942, during the period of fierce battles with the Nazi invaders, the enterprises of the city of Kerch worked for the needs of the front. We remember this and want our peers not to forget about the exploits of these heroes. And we considered the opportunity to work on the improvement of the territory around the monument erected here, in the Starokarantinnye quarries, as the best manifestation of respect for the heroic memory of our ancestors. In addition, it is very significant for the student team members to work in Kerch. This year marks 50 years since Kerch was awarded the title of «Hero City» with the presentation of the highest awards of the USSR — the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal. In honor of the liberation of the city from the Nazi invaders, the Obelisk of Glory was erected on the top of Mount Mithridates and the Eternal Flame burns. And today it was both an honor and a pleasure for us to lay flowers at the Eternal Flame memorial in the Hero City, honoring the memory of all the defenders of our Fatherland— said Maria Nekrasova, commissioner of the Burning Hearts student landing detachment.
