Crimean student groups took part in the May Day march in Moscow

CrimeaPRESS reports:

On May 1, Crimean students took part in a large-scale festive procession that took place in the center of Moscow at the International Forum and Exhibition “Russia”, which was operated by Russian Student Teams (RSO) together with Rosmolodezh. The event was held under the slogan “May! Work is cool! More than 5,000 people took part in the parade: these were RSO movement activists from Moscow and Russian regions, movement veterans, partners, employers, university and college students, youth organizations, sports stars and young families.

Today’s march is a celebration of youth labor. This year we plan to employ 400 thousand young people. Just recently in the Kremlin we celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Baikal-Amur Mainline. More than 3,200 children will take part in the main student shock construction project this year. Students will work at KAMAZ and in children’s health camps. We will employ about 100 thousand teenagers. This year, students will work both in Russia and abroad, these are nuclear power plants in Turkey, Egypt, Hungary, Belarus, and Bangladesh. Therefore, the guys will have a wide variety of jobs to choose from throughout the country and the world. By the summer work semester, we had trained 50 thousand students in additional working specialties. This became possible thanks to the support of the President and Government of the Russian Federation, — notes First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Youth Policy, Chairman of the Board of Russian Student Groups Mikhail Kiselev.

The festive procession took place in the format of costumed and theatrical columns, reflecting the professions and results of human labor in the 20th and 21st centuries, as well as the 65-year history of the student movement. The procession consisted of 10 thematic columns, the participants of which were veterans of student brigades, students, representatives of government bodies, employers and large Russian companies, partners and employers of the Russian Socialist Republic, participants in the student brigade movement from different regions of Russia. Also taking part in the parade were artists, athletes, participants in youth movements and young families, dynasties of student groups and families passing on work experience from generation to generation.

A trip to the May Day procession in Moscow was a real adventure for me! It was incredible to see so many different people who came from all over Russia. We all walked through the streets together, holding signs with words of support and unity written on them. I especially remember how everyone around was smiling and singing songs — it created such a warm and joyful atmosphere. It was a wonderful day, full of impressions and new acquaintances. I’m very glad that I took part and was able to feel like I was part of something big and important!, — says Katrina Tsygankova, a fighter of the Crimean student service detachment “Orion”.

The event ended with a festive concert, where each participant was able to feel like part of a large and friendly family of Russian student groups. It is expected that such events will help strengthen ties between students of various educational institutions of the country and stimulate young people to new achievements in learning and creativity.
