Crimean students collected more than three hundred books to replenish the fund of Kherson region libraries

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The Crimean regional branch of student teams summed up the collection of children’s books for transfer to libraries in the Kherson region. Since 2018, through the efforts of a team of student teams of the Republic of Crimea, we have been holding a volunteer campaign “Give a Book to a Child”. It is traditionally aimed at developing volunteerism, popularizing reading and replenishing the funds of children’s libraries. The “Give a Book to a Child” campaign is held in winter, spring and summer, and every time it attracts a lot of people who want to contribute to the cultural development of the younger generation.

As part of the last collection, anyone who wished for a month could purchase a book or find a children’s book in good condition in their home library and transfer them to the headquarters of the student teams of the Republic of Crimea.

As a result of the collective efforts and generous contributions of students, over three hundred children’s books have been collected in the last month. Today, all the collected books, as part of the All-Russian Mutual Assistance Action #WeTogether, were donated to the RIK of the Popular Front in Crimea. Representatives of the Popular Front, in turn, will deliver these valuable literary works to municipal and school libraries in the Kherson region.

The action «Give a book to a child» is of great importance for us. We strive to develop volunteerism among students and popularize reading among children. Books are a window into the world of knowledge and imagination, and we want to open this window for every child. The collected books will replenish the funds of children’s libraries and give children the opportunity to immerse themselves in fascinating stories and expand their horizons. I am proud of the participation of our students in this action, their enthusiasm and desire to do good. Together we can change the lives of children and contribute to the future of our country, — says the head of the Crimean regional branch Vladimir Kaidansky.
