Crimean to answer for discrediting the Armed Forces and government bodies of the Russian Federation
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol has opened a criminal case against an unemployed resident of the Sovietsky District. He is charged with committing public actions aimed at discrediting the use of the Armed Forces to protect the interests of the Russian Federation and its citizens, committed by a person after he was brought to administrative responsibility for a similar act (Part 1 of Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The Kirov Interdistrict Investigative Department established that the man shouted slogans in a public place that the Russian Ministry of Justice included in the list of Nazi slogans. He had previously been brought to administrative responsibility for discrediting the Russian army, but had not drawn the necessary conclusions. The defendant was detained by operatives of the republican departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the FSB of Russia. During the presentation of charges in the investigator’s office, the villager admitted his guilt in the act, repented, and apologized to the citizens of the Russian Federation— the Investigative Committee reported.
Will repentance help? The penalty under Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation provides for a punishment of up to five years’ imprisonment.
