Crimean woman suffered well-deserved punishment for the “scheme” with maternity capital

CrimeaPRESS reports:

And yet the court took pity on the woman.

In the Krasnogvardeisky district, a local resident was convicted of fraud with maternity capital. The court found that a Crimean woman, being the mother of two young children, wanting to cash out her maternity capital, in 2019 turned to a consumer credit cooperative operating in the region.

An official of the cooperative, using a power of attorney in the name of the convict, purchased a plot of land in the Chelyabinsk region. Next, the woman entered into a fictitious consumer loan agreement with the cooperative in the amount of 428 thousand rubles, allegedly for the construction of a residential building on the purchased land plot.

In order to cash out maternity capital funds, the convict submitted to the territorial administration of the pension fund of the Russian Federation the specified fictitious agreement with a statement of desire to use maternity capital funds to pay off the debt to the cooperative— said the Crimean prosecutor’s office.

In this way, the defendant received 428 thousand rubles, part of which she transferred to an official of the cooperative, and disposed of the rest at her own discretion. A criminal case against an official of the cooperative has been separated into separate proceedings, and the investigation continues.

The court, taking into account the opinion of the state prosecutor, sentenced the woman to a fine. The woman compensated for the material damage caused during the investigation.
