Crimeans are asked to turn off electrical appliances that are not in use due to network overload
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Earlier it was reported that in Crimea and Sevastopol some consumers were temporarily disconnected from electricity supply due to the fact that the network is under too much load. Power engineers attribute this to the heat.
Due to abnormal temperature conditions in Crimea, rolling blackouts have been introduced to maintain the integrity of the power grid. Short-term interruptions in electricity supplies are possible in a number of populated areas. We ask all Crimeans to use electricity sparingly and turn off unnecessary electrical appliancesKryuchkov wrote, citing information from Krymenergo.
As he later reported in his Telegram channel The head of the city, Mikhail Razvozhaev, said that Sevastopol was forced to introduce temporary power outages not only because of the heat and the increased load on the grid, but also because of a failure in the operation of the Rostov Nuclear Power Plant — the city is missing out on 40 MW.
Previously, the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand reportedthat the air temperature will rise to 42 degrees in the south of Russia in the coming days. At the same time, extreme heat has been recorded in the regions of the Southern Federal District since last week. This has already led to a number of fires in Sevastopol, the Republic of Crimea.
