Crimeans are invited to take part in the new season of the All-Russian competition «Start the Game»

The Game Creator track is a sure path from developing an idea and creating a team to releasing a game product and monetizing the activity. Its result will be demo versions of computer and mobile games, as well as prototypes of board games.

Over the course of two seasons, 1,705 residents of the Republic of Crimea took part in the All-Russian competition “Start the Game”, eight of whom were among the finalists.

The rules allow you to start a new game development or come to the third season of the «Start the Game» project with a ready-made idea. Games can be created in solo development or in a team of up to 10 people, and if there are vacancies in the team, independent specialists can join them.

To reach the final of «Start the Game», you will need to solve six mandatory tasks. You can register at any time until October 14, 2024, but applying for the competition soon will provide access to unique educational programs and communication with experts in the gaming industry.

During the third season, master classes, feedback sessions and workshops will be held live by the chief methodologist of the All-Russian competition «Start the Game», co-founder and general producer of Geeky House Vyacheslav Utochkin, community manager of the All-Russian competition «Start the Game», head of WATT Studio Egor Tomsky, producer and leading game designer in the companies Siliz, ALAWAR Premium and others Vladimir Kovtun, head of the VK Play Indie direction Alexander Egorov and many other representatives of gamedev.

Another innovation of the third season, in addition to the track «Game Creator», is cash prizes. VTB will act as the general sponsor of the All-Russian competition «Start the Game». The total prize fund will be 1.6 million rubles.

The winners in each of the four nominations of the Game Creator track will receive initial financial support:

• «Family Games» — video and board games for family recreation and family bonding;
• “Regions and Languages ​​of Russia” is a nomination dedicated to the cultural identity of the subjects of the Russian Federation;
• «Science, Education and Healthcare» — useful games that can teach the skills needed to work in a scientific, educational or medical environment;
• «Sports and eSports» — video and board games dedicated to various sports and healthy lifestyles.

In addition to the main nominations, teams can apply for support in special nominations from partners. Their full list, as well as technical conditions for participation and the prize fund will be published on the platform startgame.rf.

Traditionally, the All-Russian contest «Start the Game» is supported by strategic partner VK Play. In the third season, VK Play will present a special nomination. In addition, experts of the gaming ecosystem will take part in the selection of projects, and streamers will test the finalists’ games and invite developers to a live broadcast.

Over the course of two seasons, the All-Russian competition «Start the Game» introduced over 170 thousand Russians and foreigners to the professions of the gaming industry. In the third season, this opportunity will remain: by solving tasks in the areas of «Designer», «Game designer», «Unity developer» and «Gamifier», you can earn experience points, which you can then exchange for gifts from partners and merchandise from the «Start the Game» project in the «Reward Store», which will open on the platform startgame.rf in August 2024.

The partners of the third season of the All-Russian contest «Start the Game» also include RuStore, «World of Tanks», Hobby World Board Game Publishing House, Netology, VEB.RF, Berloga National Cyber-Physical Platform, School 21, Scream School of Computer Graphics and Game Development, IGROPROM Festival, CarX Technologies, LANGAME, Innovations for Children, IndieGo, MAXIMUM Education and other organizations, as well as educational institutions that teach gaming specialties.
