Crimeans' fear of contracting coronavirus has dropped to the level of fear of the flu
CrimeaPRESS reports:
6 out of 10 Crimeans are not afraid of either Covid or flu. Women and citizens 45+ are more susceptible to fear of contracting COVID-19; Crimeans under 34 years of age are more afraid of the flu. Service Superjob I found out from the Crimeans whether they are afraid of seasonal infections. Economically active citizens from Crimea took part in the survey.
42% of Crimeans are afraid of becoming infected with coronavirus: 8% are very afraid, 34% are a little afraid. Women are more likely than men to be afraid of infection (49% vs. 35%, respectively), and there are twice as many women who express strong concern (7% vs. 9%). Every second person over 45 years of age is afraid of infection.
The wave of coronavirus cases has subsided, and according to Rospotrebnadzor forecasts, it will soon be replaced flu wave. The study revealed that as many Crimeans are afraid of getting infected with the flu as they are with Covid (42% each), but the share of those who are very afraid of the flu is still lower (5% versus 8% of those who are very afraid of the coronavirus). Those surveyed under 34 years of age (41%) more often spoke about the fear of catching the flu.
6 out of 10 Crimeans (61%) are not afraid of either the flu or the coronavirus.
