Crimeans have access to intranasal vaccination against coronavirus infection
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The Republic of Crimea received the first batch of spray nozzles for intranasal administration of the Sputnik V vaccine against the new coronavirus infection.
In total, the region received thousand dosing devices — these are spray nozzles on a syringe for nasal administration of medicines. From today, intranasal vaccination against coronavirus is available in all clinics of the Crimea , — quotes the press service of the Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Crimea Anton Lyaskovskiy.
With the intranasal method, the vaccine is administered using a dosing device into one nasal inlet while inhaling. Before such immunization, the patient will undergo a standard procedure — filling out a patient questionnaire and voluntary consent, as well as undergoing an examination by a doctor. Before the introduction of the drug, the patient is asked to check the patency of the nasal passages, alternately closing one nasal passage and taking several breaths. After intranasal administration of the vaccine, the patient should refrain from sneezing for 2 hours, and also exclude smoking, eating and drinking.
Today, in Crimea, against a new coronavirus infection, it was vaccinated with the first component 962 410 of a person, completely — 909 604 human. Revaccinated 39 960 person or 39% of those to be revaccinated, — said the Deputy Minister.
In Crimea, 39 vaccination centers continue to function. Each medical organization employs mobile teams, which carry out immunization of organized groups.
