Crimeans presented the Governor of the Zaporozhye region with the “Compatriot of the Year” award

Deputy Head of the Government of Crimea Georgy Muradov presented the Governor of the Zaporozhye region Evgeny Balitsky with the “Compatriot of the Year” award, the award took place at the opening of the region’s day at the International Exhibition and Forum “Russia” in Moscow, the correspondent reports TASS.
The award is given to outstanding figures who strengthened the forces of the Russian world <...>, [за] a huge personal contribution to making our country stronger and more powerful. This year, this award is presented by the governors of four new regions that became part of the Russian Federation. This award symbolizes the feat that was accomplished 240 years ago by Catherine the Great, it was then that these lands became part of Russia— said Georgy Muradov, addressing the governor of Zaporozhye.
This is the award of all Cossacks, and it is kept in the museum of the Zaporozhye region— noted, in turn, Balitsky.
On website The government of Crimea reports that the honorary award “Compatriot of the Year” was established by the International Council of Russian Compatriots (ICRC) — the oldest global association of compatriots, representing their organizations from more than 50 countries. Since 2021, the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea and the MSRS have become organizers of awarding compatriots who have made a special contribution to the work of consolidating the Russian world.
