Crimeans summed up the implementation of the national project “Ecology” in 2023
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The office notes:
- The results of the silviculture season in Crimea showed positive results. The plan for planting forest crops on an area of 295 hectares has been completed. On the territory of the forest fund and municipalities of the Republic of Crimea, 35 events were held and more than 950 thousand seedlings and saplings were planted. Among the planted tree and shrub species: Crimean pine, ash-leaved maple, common ash, pedunculate oak, angustifolia oleaster, three-spined honey locust, Cossack juniper. More than 2,500 people contributed to the greening of the peninsula.
- The key to successful cultivation of high-quality planting material in forest nurseries is the collection and preparation of seeds of forest plants. At the end of 2023, 90 kg of seeds were harvested, from which planting materials will be subsequently prepared for reforestation work. In 2024, more than 300 hectares of forest will be planted.
- Preserving and enhancing forest wealth is a unique opportunity to make a personal contribution to the environmental future of your native land. Annual participation in such events as “Save the Forest” gives the population the opportunity to become better acquainted with forestry, learn how our forests are created and preserved, and most importantly, realize how important forests are for our native Crimea.
- At the end of 2023, work was also completed to clear sections of the bed of the Salgir River with its tributaries and the bed of the Slavyanka River in the territory of the Republic of Crimea.
- A result has been achieved in the purchase of 285 containers for the separate accumulation of solid municipal waste for the municipality of the Yalta city district, and the construction of three eco-technoparks has begun: in the Saki district with a capacity of 200 thousand tons/year, in the Belogorsky district with a capacity of 500 thousand tons/year and in the Leninsky district with a capacity 160 thousand tons/year.
- A feature of eco-technoparks is completely waste-free production due to a closed production cycle, when waste from some stages will be raw materials for others. The plants will use modern equipment, as well as advanced multi-level security systems.
In addition, in 2023, the work provided for by the technical and first stage of biological measures for the reclamation of waste landfills of municipal solid waste in the city of Belogorsk was completed.
