Crimeans support the popular anti-drone application “Radar”
CrimeaPRESS reports:
More than 300 thousand Russians have installed the Radar.NF application, developed by the Popular Front for emergency response to enemy drones or sabotage groups. Users of the app not only contribute to the security of the country, but also share their unique stories. Residents of Crimea and Sevastopol actively support and download the application.
Liliya Samokhina, a sailing coach at Olympic Reserve Sports School No. 1 in the city of Sevastopol, is familiar with safety rules on open water and regularly goes to sea. She previously reported about unidentified objects via radio, but with the advent of the Radar.NF application, she had a new way of warning special services about potential threats. The tool became key to ensuring the safety of both her crew and other sailors, reinforcing the importance of technology in maritime security.
When the Crimea Cup cruising competition took place, we walked along the southern coast and discovered some unidentified object. This was reported on radio channel 16, and after some time it was indeed confirmed that it was some kind of object, which was then destroyed. During the children’s training, thank God, nothing like this happened: we did not find anything in our bay, so far everything is calm. But, of course, you must always be vigilant and on the alertsays Lilia Samokhina.
Konstantin Kartushin, who works as a gas attendant at a gas station in Crimea, especially appreciates the Radar.NF application for the opportunity to be on alert during night and morning shifts. Working at such times, Konstantin is aware of the increased threat of unnoticed drones or other potential dangers. He shared that thanks to Radar.NF he feels more confident and ready to take action, which is important not only for his personal safety, but also for the protection of colleagues and gas station customers. He tells:
We work at a gas station, so here is a risk zone, the danger is higher. With Radar you feel more confident because you can immediately transmit information to the authorities. Therefore, in the end, there is a greater sense of security.
As part of continuous development and improvement, the Popular Front’s Radar.NF application has recently received significant updates.
The development team focused on increasing functionality and usability. Key innovations include an improved manual compass calibration system, allowing users to more accurately determine the direction of movement of enemy UAVs. This feature is especially important in urban environments, where interference can affect the accuracy of standard smartphone compasses. In addition, the application implements an automatic cardinal direction detection system, which allows you to more effectively use the application for monitoring and preventing threats. Thanks to the high accuracy of the compass, the mobile application clearly understands the direction of movement of the object, which in turn helps the competent authorities to better respond to cases– the press service quotes the head of the project for developing the “Radar.NF” application of the Popular Front, Mikhail Kamyshev.
The Radar.NF application allows people to send messages to the responsible federal structures about spotted drones and other suspicious objects. The “Radar.NF” application is available for users of the Android operating system; you can download it on GooglePlay and RuStore. https://apps.rustore.ru/app/ru.onf.rdr (https://apps.rustore.ru/app/ru.onf.rdr).
