Crimeans — veterans of the SVO are going to the competition of defenders of the Fatherland

A sports team of Fatherland Defenders has been formed in Crimea. It includes 8 veterans of the special operation, who will go to Stavropol to participate in the interregional stage of the «Fatherland Defenders Cup». The competition will be held from August 15 to 18 between representatives of the Southern and North Caucasian Federal Districts. Medals will be played for in the following sports: volleyball, arm wrestling, table tennis, bench press and target shooting. Crimean veterans of the SVO said that they are determined only to win.

We will fight to the end so that our republic takes first place.— emphasized SVO participant Yuri.

He also noted the importance of holding such competitions:

It is very nice that the guys who were wounded are not forgotten, and such events are organized for them. It unites us in difficult times.

Another member of the Crimean team, special operation veteran Maxim, said that sport helps him maintain a healthy lifestyle.

For SVO participants with injuries, sport is the best rehabilitation. I like table tennis, I work with a coach and that’s why I decided to take part in the competition– Maxim noted.

The competition is organized by the State Foundation «Defenders of the Fatherland», created on the instructions of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. The Foundation pays great attention to projects that help involve veterans of the special operation in sports. The tournament gives the heroes of the special operation who received combat injuries an opportunity to prove themselves. In this way, the main goal of the organization is realized — personal support for veterans of the SVO and assistance in their return to life after the special operation.
