In April of this year, the demand for services for home and garden among Russians increased 3 times (+220%) compared to March and by 19% compared to last year. This month, the increase in demand for work with the soil is especially noticeable: orders for the delivery of organic fertilizers increased by 8 times, digging up soil by 5 times, mowing grass by 4 times, and installing a lawn by 3 times.
The highest demand for dacha services is among residents of Siberia and southern Russia
Compared to last year, this year there is a special interest in dacha services among residents of various Russian cities. Residents of Siberia and southern Russia are showing increased interest in dacha services. In Barnaul, demand increased by 159%, in Tomsk by 148%, and in Novosibirsk by 82%. In the south, in Sochi and Rostov-on-Don, the increase was 99% and 88%, respectively. While in Moscow and St. Petersburg the demand for dacha services increased by only 6% and 51%.
Lawn mowing is the most popular service among Russians
This year, the top 5 in demand among dacha services include: grass mowing, cultivation, landscaping, uprooting and shrub removal.
Moreover, the service for mowing grass in April, compared to last month, is most popular in Rostov-on-Don (+93%), cultivation is most often ordered in Voronezh (+941%), improvement of the entire suburban area is more often sought by residents of Kazan (+ 532%), Muscovites often outsource the removal of shrubs to specialists (+57%), and residents of St. Petersburg like to delegate bush removal (+190%).

At the beginning of April, specialists returned to providing dacha services, which are included in the category of seasonal work. The number of offers from craftsmen offering their services for caring for summer cottages increased by 60% over the month. Over the past year, from April 2023 to April 2024, the number of such specialists increased by 20%. On the Avito Services platform, the most significant increase in offers for the month was noted in the categories of grass cutting (+104%), tree cutting (+49%) and plant processing (+49%). The average cost of these services has remained stable throughout Russia: for mowing grass, they charge from 400 rubles, for cutting down trees — from 1000 rubles, and for processing plants — from 500 rubles.
