Daily rental of housing: the law on clarifying the Housing Code of the Russian Federation will come into force on April 3, 2024
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The Housing Code of the Russian Federation stipulates that the owner of an apartment or other housing can rent it out, in particular, under a short-term rental agreement.
It will also be explicitly stated that when renting out housing for any period and for any legal reason, the owner ensures compliance with:
- rights and legitimate interests of neighbors;
- rules for the use of housing and maintenance of common property of premises owners in an apartment building;
- requirements for equipping premises in such a house with energy meters, etc.
The amendment was prepared at the request of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation. In March 2023, he explained: housing in an apartment building can be provided to citizens for a short-term period (from one to several days) for a fee, if the owner complies with a number of conditions. In this case, such activities cannot be equated to hotel services, which are prohibited in apartment buildings.
