Damage from bad weather is being calculated in Yalta. It’s a great pity for the lost cedar, which saw the times of the “conquest of Crimea”
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Yalta continues to eliminate the consequences of bad weather. Strong winds knocked down 25 trees. Among them is a 250-year-old beautiful cedar on Lesya Ukrainka Street.
The soil has recently absorbed too much moisture, the root system of even powerful centenarians cannot cope, and hurricane winds aggravate the situation,” the experts explained.
City authorities promise to make every effort to keep Yalta green and blooming — large-scale tree planting is planned for the 10th anniversary of the Crimean Spring.
It will cover Godlevsky Park, Yasnaya Polyana, M.P. Chekhova Square, the Hill of Glory memorial, and the bus station area. We will plant plants in other areas as part of the pre-holiday cleanup together with the residents — pedunculate oak, angustifolia oleagin, common almond, white acacia — more than a thousand trees in total,” said the head of the Yalta administration, Yanina Pavlenko.
