Dangerous Games in Abandoned Buildings. Child Dies in Kerch

A criminal case has been opened regarding the death of a schoolchild on the territory of an abandoned factory in Kerch (Part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – causing death by negligence).

On the afternoon of August 2, a schoolboy and his friends were swimming in the territory of an unfenced abandoned factory, which poses a danger to the life and health of citizens. The boys were diving from the second floor of the factory building. The 14-year-old boy, noticing a rope, decided to climb up to the third floor, but he fell, hit the edge of a concrete slab and fell into the water. After a while, the boy’s body was recovered with signs of drowning– the Investigative Committee reported.

As part of the investigation, all the circumstances of the incident are carefully examined: forensic medical examinations are ordered, the owner of the premises is identified, and the measures taken to prevent unauthorized persons from entering the territory are determined.

The Crimean Prosecutor’s Office also organized an investigation.

During the inspection, an assessment will be made of the implementation of legislative requirements in the area of ​​ensuring the safety and protection of the rights of minors, the completeness and effectiveness of the work of the bodies of the prevention system, as well as the completeness of the measures taken by authorized bodies and officials to ensure safety at the facility and restrict access to it.the supervisory authority reported.

An assessment will also be made of the situation in the families of minors and the educational process.
