Day of Knowledge in Tauric Chersonese: how schoolchildren — guests of the museum-reserve celebrated the holiday
CrimeaPRESS reports:
560 schoolchildren decided to start the new academic year with a fun quest-excursion in the museum-reserve. Today, young Sevastopol residents in the company of classmates touched the history of Tauric Chersonesos and learned about how their peers lived several thousand years ago. The children tried themselves in the role of the ancient sages, completed many interesting tasks and received ice cream as a gift.
After passing five stations, the participants of the quest-excursion collected a map of Tauric Chersonesos, learned about its political structure and about the oath that young men who had reached the age of majority once took here. The children heard a lot of interesting things about the trade and military affairs of the ancient policy, saw the coins of that era and tried to count and write in ancient Greek.— told the press service of the Government of Sevastopol.
The final stage of the holiday was an exciting quiz. Its participants were able to prove themselves and show their knowledge of the history of the ancient city. Teams of schoolchildren also played jenga and assembled the temple from huge cubes. There was also some sweets: all the guys got ice cream — a real symbol of childhood.
Today was fun! We had a great time as a whole class, learned about the life of children in Ancient Greece and admired the views of Tauric Chersonesus— Irina Chaika, a student of the Ecotech + school, notes.
