Day of Russian students: students of SevGU will be able to study according to new educational programs

CrimeaPRESS reports:

25 January is the Day of Russian Students. In the official group of the Government of Sevastopol in the social network «VKontakte» today there was a live broadcast with the rector of SevSU Vladimir Nechaev. During the broadcast, they discussed the Big Student Ball and new areas of training that have appeared at the university. According to the rector, the students prepared for their holiday: today Sevastopol State University organized quests and competitions with tasks for unity, creativity, knowledge of the history of the city and the university. The main event will be the Big Student Ball “In the Rhythm of Kindness”.

This year the ball is held with the support of the Government of Sevastopol under the auspices of volunteerism. As a reward for their work, 50 pairs of volunteers will be invited to the event — these are students of SevGU, other universities in the region, schoolchildren. The ball will be held on the site of the corps in Holland , — notes Vladimir Nechaev.

During the broadcast, the rector also spoke about the achievements of the university over the past year. So, in December, SevGU received a license for eight new educational programs. The areas of undergraduate training are connected, among other things, with the humanities, including «Museology», «Oriental and African Studies».

Museology is the training of specialists in the field of museum work. Today, for Sevastopol, this is of particular relevance. The city has a rich history, and at the same time many new museums are being built: on Cape Khrustalny, in Chersonese. Accordingly, new specialists are required. The direction «Oriental and African studies» is connected with the turn to the east, which the Russian Federation is making today. This is not only China, but also the Middle East, Africa. Therefore, we need specialists in the countries of the East. Last year we conducted regional and archeological expeditions in five countries of the world. Basically, these were the countries of the Middle East , — emphasizes the rector of SevGU.

Vladimir Nechaev added that two more new bachelor’s programs are related to the development of water transport — «Management of water transport and hydrographic support of navigation», as well as «Engineering and economic support of technologies and business processes of water transport».

These are specialties that are associated with the provision of logistics for all water routes, with the operation of ports. In the direction of «Engineering and economic support of technologies and business processes of water transport» there is a very large need for personnel. This is the training of specialized economists for the shipbuilding industry and, in general, for the maritime transport sector. We opened this specialty after lengthy consultations with the industry, with the United Shipbuilding Corporation , — said Vladimir Nechaev.

In February of this year, the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Health Preservation will be established at Sevastopol State University. According to the rector of the university, the development of medical education is a long overdue need for Sevastopol.

We are planning to develop medicine at the interface with high technology. Two areas of study — medical biophysics and medical cybernetics — are closely related to the research and development already ongoing at the university in the field of biophysics and work with high-tech equipment and scientific activities of the university in order to train specialists in the field of high-tech medicine , — says Vladimir Nechaev.

Recall that this year the Government of Sevastopol plans to conclude 50 agreements with school graduates of the city on targeted training in the direction of «Medicine».
