Deadly overtaking on the highway «Simferopol — Evpatoria»: cars met on the side of the road

Today at 14:45 on the highway «Simferopol — Evpatoria» there was an accident in which a person died, two more, including a child, were injured. As specified in the traffic police, the accident happened near the village of Chervonoe in the Saki district.

The driver of a Volkswagen Polo, born in 1976, moving from Evpatoria towards Simferopol, while overtaking a moving vehicle in front in a place where overtaking is allowed, drove into the oncoming traffic lane. Noticing a car moving towards him, the driver of the Volkswagen Polo car, wanting to avoid a collision and not having time to return to his lane, decided to turn left. The driver of the Hyundai Solaris car, which was moving in the opposite direction to the Volkswagen Polo car, in order to avoid a collision, turned right onto the side of the road where a head-on collision occurred— told the details of the accident in the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Republic of Crimea.

Employees of the State traffic inspectorate worked at the site of the accident, an inspection is being carried out, all the circumstances of the incident are being clarified. The Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Crimea controls the verification of the circumstances of this traffic accident.
