December 23 is Mina’s Memorial Day. Ask for yourself to see the light…
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Mina-bright eyes, Days of Spiridonov’s Turn, Mina — that’s what people called this day. They believed that the saint of this day warned the human race against twilight. The peasants believed that this veil covered people’s eyes, and they were no longer able to distinguish darkness from light, or good from evil. In such a state, a person was simply unable to lead a righteous life. Mina helped to see clearly and not succumb to the temptations of evil spirits. Not only people possessed by demons and confused in life turned to him asking for spiritual insight, but also those suffering from eye diseases turned to him for healing. The basis for this was that the saint really possessed the gift of miracles and cured all eye diseases and restored sight to the blind.
Who is Mina? According to legend, Mina the Eloquent suffered for his faith in Christ at the beginning of the 4th century. It is known that Mina was sent from Athens to Alexandria by Emperor Maximilian. He was ordered to suppress the Christian uprising. However, Mina did not do this, but, on the contrary, began to preach faith in Christ. Then Mina was captured and put on trial, and then tortured. The emperor himself took part in them, who did not pay attention to the signs telling him to have mercy. As a result, the emperor himself killed Mina.
