Demand for New Year's holidays in Crimea has increased

Demand for holidays in Crimea during the New Year holidays increased by 40% over the year, the popularity of Sevastopol increased by 80%. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Union of Tourism Industry (RST) with reference to data from the online platform Travelline.

Among the record holders for growth in demand is Crimea, which is booked almost 40% more during these New Year holidays than a year ago. The average cost of placement (10.3 thousand rubles) is approximately 5.8% lower than last year. And trips to Sevastopol began to be booked almost 80% more often than a year ago— quotes the message TASS.

Interest in New Year’s holidays in the Orenburg region and Krasnoyarsk Territory has more than doubled over the year, in the Lipetsk and Tomsk regions — by 94%, in the Volgograd, Samara, Rostov regions — by 60%, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug — by 55%, Saratov region — by 47%.

As experts noted, there is an increase in demand in almost all regions. Only a few entities showed a decrease, including those that set maximum prices for placement. For example, the average cost of accommodation for the New Year holidays in Karachay-Cherkessia reached the highest level in the market — 21.3 thousand rubles per night. As a result, demand also decreased by 0.6%. The average price in the Altai Republic increased by 37%, which resulted in a minimal increase in demand (+0.3%). Buryatia increased prices by 62%, while demand fell by almost 29%.

According to Travelline, the total number of hotel bookings for the New Year holidays has increased by an average of 23% in Russia compared to last year. The leaders in demand are Moscow (22% of bookings), Krasnodar Territory (17%) and St. Petersburg (15%). Most often, tourists book stays lasting less than three nights; the average price for accommodation on holidays increased by 13.6% and reached 10.6 thousand rubles per room per night. In Moscow, accommodation prices increased by almost 29%, in the Krasnodar Territory — by 5%, in St. Petersburg — by 20%.
