Demand for summer holidays in Crimea has doubled in a year
CrimeaPRESS reports:
At the beginning of this year, hotel bookings in Crimea for the summer increased significantly compared to the same period a year earlier. According to tour operators, the increase ranges from 50% to 100%. According to PCT experts, this is due to last year’s low base, attractive prices and a calm information background— quotes the message TASS.
According to the service Travelline, the demand for accommodation facilities in Crimea increased by an average of 40%. Moreover, more than 40% of bookings are made by residents of the peninsula itself. Tour operators also note a surge in demand for Crimea. “Over the past month, the number of bookings has doubled. Tourists were very active during the past New Year holidays, the increase in orders was 80%,” confirmed Sergei Romashkin, general director of the Dolphin company.
However, according to him, it is premature to talk about the restoration of demand in the direction. “If previously the Crimean volumes could be compared with the indicators for the resorts of the Krasnodar Territory as a whole, now they are not comparable even with Sochi,” the expert explained.
In 2023, the peninsula received 5.2 million tourists, which is 20% less than in 2022, the PCT recalled.
