We are in dire need of tractor drivers. Off-season, the personnel deficit is 10%, and during the wine-growing season, from April to October, this figure increases to 27%. There is also an acute shortage of winegrowers themselves — people who care for the grapes and harvest them. The deficit of these specialists exceeds 50%. A small part of Fanagoria’s need for such people is covered by internal labor migrants, but this does not fully solve the problem of hiring people to work in the vineyards. There are several reasons for this — both a decrease in the interest of young people in the profession and high competition in the industry, — said Petr Romanishin, General Director of Fanagoria.
