Demerdzhi-Yayla is in the top of the most mystical places to travel in autumn in Russia
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The Russian vacation rental booking service TVIL.RU conducted a survey on social networks on the topic: which of the places they visited seemed the most mysterious, dark, mystical? We are now publishing the survey results.
1. In first place is Death Valley in Yakutia, the place chosen by 24% of voters. This is an anomalous zone in the valley of the Vilyui River in Yakutia. Various legends are told about this place — about mysterious “cauldrons” that go into the ground, about curses and diseases that await those who dare to unravel the secret of this place.
2. In second place is the City of the Dead in North Ossetia-Alania, the choice of 22% of voting participants. Dargavsky necropolis is the largest in the Caucasus. There are hundreds of ancestral tombs built from sand and limestone. They say that the custom of such funerals comes from the Zoroastrians, who forbade the burial of the body. The City of the Dead is located 42 kilometers from the city of Vladikavkaz.
3. In third place is Demerdzhi-Yayla in Crimea, a place for which 12% of participants spoke. They say that here blocks of stones fell on a blacksmith who was helping the conquerors of his native land. From Demerdzhi there is a beautiful view of Alushta, as well as Chatyrdaga Peak.
4. Arkaim attracted the attention of 10% of voters. This is not the oldest Ural archaeological site, but one of the most famous. And now not only tourists, but also scientists are observing anomalies in this Bronze Age city that are difficult to explain.
5. 9% of participants voted for the Curonian Spit. Legends are still told about the sacrifices that took place on this land before the arrival of the Teutonic Order. And you can see the anomalous zone of the Dancing Forest, where the trees are twisted into unimaginable rings, in person.
6. Mount Belukha in Gorny Altai was chosen by 8% of voters. They talk about the giant White Ear, who was killed here, about spirits who can warn travelers of danger — but if they are not listened to, the consequences can be sad.
7. Olkhon Island on Lake Baikal was chosen by 6% of subscribers. It is believed that this is where the ancient spirits of Baikal live. The heart of Olkhon is called the sacred rock Shamanka, where shamans performed their rituals in a through cave.
8. Lovozero tundra collected 5% of the votes. The mountains around Lovozero on the Kola Peninsula are considered to be among the oldest on Earth. There are many legends about these places — about the strange psychosis that seizes some of the local travelers, about the “ruins of Hyperborea” discovered here.
9. Lake Svetloyar in the Nizhny Novgorod region was chosen by 3% of voters. They say that it was under these waters that the city of Kitezh went under so as not to fall into the hands of the Tatar-Mongol conquerors.
10. Mount Vottvovaara in Karelia was chosen by 62% of subscribers. This place is called the most mysterious and mystical in Karelia. There are a lot of seids here, there is a stone staircase going to the sky, and on the top of the mountain there are also twisted trees. Vottovaara means “mountain of victory” in the Sami language. Although today many people call it “witch mountain”.
