In Crimea, the prosecutor’s office of the Bakhchisaray district approved the indictment in a criminal case against a 52-year-old local resident. He is accused of committing crimes under Part 3 of Art. 260 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal felling of forest plantations, committed on an especially large scale).
During the preliminary investigation, it was established that in early March 2023, the defendant, having left for the forest area of the Mikhailovsky district forestry, without a logging ticket, illegally sawed down 17 damp-growing oak trees with a chainsaw. The attacker’s actions caused damage in the amount of more than 1.3 million rubles. In order to compensate for the damage caused by the crime, the property of the accused was seizedthe prosecutor’s office said.
The investigation of the criminal case was carried out by the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Bakhchisarai region. With the approved indictment, the criminal case was sent to the Bakhchisaray District Court for consideration on the merits.
