Doctors from the N. A. Semashko Republican Clinical Hospital conduct visiting master classes on endoscopic surgery

The first regional master class was held at the surgical department of the State Healthcare Institution of the Republic of Crimea «Bakhchisarai Central District Hospital». The organizers and participants of the event were greeted by the First Deputy Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Efim Fiks and the chief physician of the medical organization Svetlana Shein.

The chief surgeon of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Crimea, head of the surgical department of the Republican Clinical Hospital named after N.A. Semashko Samir Zakut together with his colleagues performed three surgical interventions as part of the master class — laparoscopic cholecystectomy (removal of the gallbladder through small punctures), transabdominal preperitoneal hernioplasty (removal of an inguinal hernia with closure of the defect with a mesh endoprosthesis), and laparoscopic appendectomy (removal of the appendix through three small punctures in the abdominal wall).

These operations are minimally invasive, that is, less traumatic for patients. To perform them, video endoscopic equipment is required, which is currently available in almost all of our medical organizations. We plan to hold similar master classes in other medical institutions in Crimea to improve the level of professional skills of Crimean surgeons and to master modern treatment methods.— said Samir Zakut.

For doctors who came to the master class from all over Crimea, the opportunity was organized to observe the actions of surgeons, both in the operating room and during the online broadcast.
