Doctors in Kerch began to perform high-tech operations on knee arthroplasty

Endoprosthesis replacement of the knee joints is performed if there are indications in patients with rheumatoid arthritis, degenerative-dystrophic diseases (gonarthrosis), neoplasms, deformities, contracture of the knee joint, etc.
According to the quotas allocated by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Crimea, this year in the Kerch city hospital No. N. I. Pirogov, it is planned to perform 100 operations for primary prosthetics of the knee joint and 20 operations for revision prosthetics (replacement of the knee or hip joint), which is performed when the primary prosthesis is unstable. In addition, the medical institution provides the possibility of medical rehabilitation in the field of «traumatology and orthopedics» and already on the 5th-6th day after the operation, patients are transferred to rehabilitation beds.
