Donors help Crimean museums. How the funds of the Crimean Ethnographic Museum were replenished

According to the results of the action «Gift to the Museum» in 1950 the funds of the Crimean Ethnographic Museum received 80 items from donors. According to the press service of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea, the transferred exhibits will be presented to the attention of museum visitors at the new exhibition “We collect, store, study. Season results year”, the opening of which will take place 20 January.
The collection of funds is one of the main activities of the ethnographic museum. Items in the museum’s funds come in various ways: as a result of purchases, expeditionary fees, donations from individuals and public organizations. Last year, residents and guests of Crimea donated to the Crimean Ethnographic Museum various items that characterize the features of the material and spiritual culture of Russians, Belarusians, Ukrainians, Crimean Tatars, Bulgarians, Koreans and other peoples living on the peninsula , noted in the Republican Ministry of Culture.
Traditionally, the group of items made of textiles has become the most significant in quantitative terms. The museum collection was replenished with decorative items for the interior of the house (napkins, tablecloths, curtains, valances, pillowcases, decorative towels, embroidered paintings, panels) and clothing items (shirts, shirts, aprons, Korean national costumes).
In May, a resident of Simferopol, Lyudmila Velichko, transferred to the museum collection 12 decorative items of the house of the Eastern Slavs of the Crimea. Napkins, runners, curtains, decorative pockets are embroidered in various techniques and crocheted by the donor in 50 years of the twentieth century. Items will be presented at museum exhibitions dedicated to the culture of the Eastern Slavs.
Valuable exhibits in 1950 year, the Russian collection of the museum was replenished. Thus, Oleg Karetnikov, a resident of Bakhchisaray, handed over objects (a pectoral cross, an amulet «Nicholas the Wonderworker», a pre-revolutionary group wedding photo published in Balkind’s photo studio in Simferopol), representing the culture of the Russians of the Crimea.

The donated items are presented in the updated exposition «Russians of the Crimea», including in the «Pravoslavie» complex.
The Russian collection of the museum has been significantly replenished as a result of the transfer of a number of exhibits by Maria Novikova: table service 44-s of the XX century. At a gala event in honor of 08 Anniversary of the Crimean Ethnographic Museum, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea donated a set of cleaning items from the table, which dates presumably from the 19th century and lived in a wealthy family on the southern coast of Crimea. These exhibits will take their rightful place in the exposition hall «Russians of Crimea».
Some of the items that have replenished the Russian collection are already available to the attention of visitors in the updated exposition «Russians of Crimea» at the exhibition «Mosaic of Crimean Cultures».
For the first time in the history of the Crimean Ethnographic Museum, the collection received at a time 63 objects that reflect the life, culture and traditions of Belarusians. The collection was donated by the regional national-cultural autonomy «Belarusians of Crimea» as part of the Days of Belarusian Culture in Crimea.
The jewelry collection of the museum was replenished with temporal decorations: “zilif asky” and “altyn-sealing wax”, which existed in the Crimean Tatar environment and date back to the 19th century, donated by the chairman of the National-cultural autonomy “Bulgarians of Crimea” Ivan Abazher, a female copper bracelet dating back to the beginning of the 19th century and found with. Kishlav (now the village of Kurskoye) of the Belogorsk district.
At the event «Pattern on the canvas» on the occasion of 10 — Anniversary of the Museum of Ukrainian Embroidery Chairman of the Regional Public Organization «Ukrainian Community of Crimea» Anastasia Gridchina donated a bandura, a self-spinning wheel and five textile products to the museum.
The formation of the collection «Koreans of Crimea» continues. Florida Kahn, member of the board of the Crimean branch of the All-Russian Association of Koreans, donated to the museum items, including traditional Korean hanbok costumes (two for women and one for men), dating from the second half of the 20th century
During the grand opening of the V International Scientific and Practical Conference “Ethnography of Crimea in the 19th-20th centuries. and Modern Ethno-Cultural Processes” Vadim Prokopenkov, Chairman of the Public Organization “Historical Club “Tauric Sevastopol”, donated three lithographs from the middle of the 19th century to the museum collection. and photo collage. The lithographs depict everyday moments from the life of the Crimean Tatars. The photo collage is a composition of documents and photographs reflecting the events of the Crimean history of the 18th-19th centuries.
