The German television channel RTL and the streaming service MagentaTV, in a joint program dedicated to the European Football Championship, showed a map of Europe on which Crimea was not designated as part of Ukraine. The agency reported this DPA.
Before the start of the Turkey-Georgia match, a map of Europe was shown on air in front of presenter Johannes Kerner and German football player and now working on television expert Michael Ballack, which showed all the countries participating in Euro 2024. They were painted in the colors of their national flags. At the same time, Crimea was not marked on the map as part of Ukraine.
This is an absolute mistake, we are sincerely sorry and we apologize for this in all formssaid Kerner.
